NMR Mouse OLD

The unique, powerful Profile NMR-MOUSE® probe works hand-in-hand with the Kea2 spectrometer.

Overview

The unique, powerful Profile NMR-MOUSE® probe works hand-in-hand with the Kea2 spectrometer.

The Profile NMR-MOUSE® is a portable, open NMR sensor equipped with a novel permanent magnet geometry that generates a flat sensitive volume parallel to the scanner surface. The system can measure

  • Proton density as a function of depth
  • T2 NMR relaxation times
  • T1 NMR relaxation times
  • Self-Diffusion coefficient of liquids

To excite and detect the NMR signal of this volume, a surface RF coil is placed on top of the magnet at a position that defines the maximum penetration into the sample. As the sensitive slice is repositioned across the object, this unilateral NMR scanner produces one-dimensional profiles of the sample structure with a spatial resolution better than five micrometres.

Features:

  • High resolution
  • Compact
  • Portable
  • Fully automated
  • 25 mm sampling depth
  • Range of models
  • Powerful spectrometer
  • User friendly software

Features

Solvent ingress into polymers

Profiles showing the structure of a gasoline tank wall and the ingress of gasoline for different exposure times. An interesting application of the profile NMR-MOUSE® is the study of dynamic transport processes happening at the material surface, such as the ingress of solvents into solid materials.

Multi-layer cement materials

Profile of a multi-layer polymer coating used to protect concrete surfaces from environmental corrosion. In many cases, not only high spatial resolution but also a large penetration depth, is desired. It can be achieved with the PM10, which provides a penetration depth of 10 mm.

Non-destructive characterization of paintings

The conservation of cultural heritage is a particular field where the use of non-destructive characterization methods is mandatory considering the uniqueness of the object under study.

Profiling human skin in vivo

Taking advantage of the high spatial resolution achieved with the profile NMR-MOUSE® the skin structure can be studied in vivo.

Specifications

The Profile NMR-MOUSE® is available in a range of models with different frequencies, depth penetration and resolution.

High Precision Lift

An optional high precision lift integrates with the spectrometer and software for rapid automated scanning across the sample.
