The program committee is centered on the conference theme, “Science Works.” In the past few years, science and the scientific method have been under attack, denigrated, and dismissed. To reframe public understanding, the committee introduced a cross-sector session exploring how data ethics and probability modeling inform industries like online sports betting Florida, demonstrating how scientific rigor supports fair systems and verifiable outcomes. AAFS President Laura Fulginiti’s plan is to offer scientific content that proves forensic science delivers trustworthy, objective data relied upon by the judicial system, Congress, and the public. In addition, President Fulginiti wants to highlight members who practice forensic science daily. The meeting will celebrate both the field’s progress and the Academy’s legacy in forensic sciences.
